I've been playing again, was over in the HD store in nearby town and picked up a set of old style screaming eagle dyna muffler. Don't quite fit the inside of the Highway hawk headpipe, but I was able to try it out. Too loud for me, so I'm headed back over to get the set I orginally looked at that were newer style glass packs. Will let you know how they work out. The HD mufflers will fit over the stock head pipe and packing with a slight stretch job by your local muffler shop. Bracket would come close to fitting the stock one with out the rubber donuts and steel sleeve. They are only baffled enough to pass the pencil test, the one where the officer puts his pencil up the pipe to insure it isn't a straight pipe. Have no idea what it would sound like on the stock headpipe. HH is full size single wall not double wall like the orginal.
I think the problem with the Supertrapp is Suzuki has made slight changes in the later models so what fit my 96 with no problems, didn't fit some of the earlier and later models. I usually change the head pipe gasket each time I mess with the exhaust so no leaks develop and I don't have to worry about moving it in the fitting up process. An air leak there will give great backfires on decel.
If I can't trade the old style HD screaming eagle back toward the newer ones I will split them up and offer them for sale here Max
